How to delete all the Fasta Data in Rheingold ISTA

Outils de diagnostic de voitures

This is how to delete all the Fasta Data in BMW Rheingold which is under Administration / Transfer Monitor.

delete-all-Fasta-Data-in-Rheingold-ISTA-1

The hint was the fix for my problem:

I have deleted:
<add key=”BMW.Rheingold.RheingoldSessionController.FileTransfer.BitsProxyPreconfig” value=”true” />

and added:

<add key=”BMW.Rheingold.RheingoldSessionController.FASTATransferMode” value=”FileCopy”/>

Now I can delete the old stuff in Rheingold.

TIP: The folder is empty and the field “cancel trasmission” is gray / can not be clicked

Check the following in config:

PHP Code:

<!– if false, no FASTA data will be generated at all –>
<add key=”FASTAEnabled” value=”true” />
<add key=”BMW.Rheingold.RheingoldSessionController.FileTransfer.BitsProxyPreconfig” value=”true” />
<add key=”BMW.Rheingold.ISTAGUI.CommandECUFunctionsReadStatus.HandleFASTA” value=”false” />
<add key=”BMW.Rheingold.RheingoldSessionController.Logic.DoCompressedFASTAUpload” value=”true” />
If set that way, you should have *.behdat and *.gz files in FASTAOut. Also, in ISTA+ settings, you can set if, and when, FASTA data is deleted (eg, Never, 7 days, etc).

If the hints dont work, checked your config file for the following:

PHP Code:

<!– necessary directories –>
<add key=”FASTADirPath” value=”..\..\..\FASTAOut” />

In my folder, I have 112 files:

delete-all-Fasta-Data-in-Rheingold-ISTA-2

When I select wrench icon for settings, “Transfer Monitor” tab looks like this:

delete-all-Fasta-Data-in-Rheingold-ISTA-3

Greyed out.

But, I can individually select entries, and then I have option:

delete-all-Fasta-Data-in-Rheingold-ISTA-4

For the first tab, “Client Settings,” I have the following options:

delete-all-Fasta-Data-in-Rheingold-ISTA-5

The last, I have found a good link to free download Rheingold 4.01.21 FASTA DELETE

What is FASTA data:FASTA data is not intended for diagnostic purposes so it cannot be cleared as you can with error/codes. It is used by BMW to see how their vehicles have been performing in the real world used by real customers. From this data, they can determine what, if any, future DME updates are necessary or useful for long term durability, drivability, etc,. They can also use the data to qualify warranty repairs (i.e., blown motor caused by over-rev/mis-shift). Presumably, the should also easily be able to tell if other operational aspects of the engine have been exceeded. And how often, and by how much.

I have not tested Rheingold no fasta version. Good luck with Rheingold 4.0.
