I’d like to explain how to find the right ZB number for anyone out there. 1. Go to Inpa and note the ZB number and ADR through UIF readout. 2. Open C:\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA\gdaten\HWNR.DA2 with notepad. 3. The file has lots of numbers in it arranged in sections. Each section start with $SG_ECU-FAMILY. 4. How to use BMW ICOM B for the first time?

Before flashing anything with a new ICOM-B for the first time, I recommend doing a stress test with Tool32. Configure Ediabas to most async ab 625, open Tool32 and cicr.prg. Then select job fs_lesen and then from Tool32 top bar, select « play ». This will make the « read error memory » job run on repeat. If it can do it for 30-60 minutes, then the head is probably ok. How to setup BMW ISTA-P Native for K+DCAN cable

This has been available for a couple of months now but thought I’d share the info here. It is now easily possible to have ISTA-P and ISTA-D running natively on a modest laptop without multiple virtual machines. Although slightly out of date, software is now at ISTA-P 3.61.4.002 I believe, it’s very powerful. I still use Standard Tools for most things but ISTA-D is a great diagnostic tool.
