As the title my question: What tool to use for VAG SIMOS PCR2.1 unlock? MPPS V18 or KTAG?
Both are tested ok by some users to unlock PCR2.1! Below you have the pinouts to start and try your own risk.
MPPS V18 Clone & PCR2.1 unlock

The second pin at the bottom left is k-line green wire with MPPS V18.
Now this is how you boot ECU without resistors.. but you might want to try resistors.
KTAG Master & PCR2.1 unlock
Remove and open PCR2.1 ECU.
Connect the ECU with KATG on bench via below pinout and unlock PCR2.1.
